Senior Counsel – Litigation

The candidate will support Safety and Operational teams to ensure Transdev maintains best in class safety and regulatory policies, programs and practices. Responsible for alerts and handling of all major safety incidents; as well as internal reporting and coordination with outside counsel related to incident response. Primary responsibility for Company’s Auto and General Liability claims litigation portfolio including outside counsel selection and management; post-incident remediation measures and related considerations; internal reporting on high exposure/key matters; and development of strategies to reduce/mitigate claims. Provide strategic oversight of all litigation including attending depositions, trials, mediations and settlement conferences, as well as provide oversight and input in case discovery (written and oral) process. Support the Company’s Risk Management team in the management of claims third party administrator’s (TPA) performance; review TPA reports and provide key takeaways to senior management; attend and participate in periodic claim review roundtables. Work in close partnership with Company’s Finance and Insurance teams to manage the coverage program, assess proper case reserves and related actuarial analysis. Analyze safety and claims data to identify trends as well as opportunities for improvement within and throughout the organization. Provide safety, investigation and claim-related counsel to the field as well as conduct field safety training. Manage the Company’s subpoena response process and drive best practices and efficiencies regarding same.
