A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an E-Discovery Attorney with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and expertise in discovery processes in civil litigation and complex investigations. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of civil litigation procedures, familiarity with e-discovery tools and technologies, particularly Relativity, and at least 2 years of experience in leading document reviews. The E-Discovery Attorney will perform quality control reviews, draft privilege logs, and report document review metrics.

Duties:

  • Lead document reviews in civil litigation and complex investigations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the review process.
  • Utilize e-discovery tools and technology, particularly Relativity, to manage and analyze large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Perform quality control (QC) reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Draft privilege logs and prepare reports on document review metrics, including productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and case managers to develop e-discovery strategies and workflows that meet case-specific requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior attorneys and legal staff on e-discovery processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on developments in e-discovery technology, case law, and industry trends to enhance the firm's e-discovery capabilities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of protocols and procedures for e-discovery projects to ensure efficiency and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
  • 2+ years of experience in discovery processes in civil litigation and/or complex investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and rules of evidence.
  • Proficiency in e-discovery tools and technology, with a focus on Relativity.
  • Experience leading document reviews in a team leadership role.
  • Ability to perform quality control reviews, draft privilege logs, and report document review metrics accurately.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar or eligibility for admission by motion.
