Associate - Immigration Advisory (Worldwide Knowledge Management)
The candidate will work closely with attorneys and other professionals to answer legal questions and strategize complex cases with a focus on positive outcomes and risk management. Advise the firm's corporate teams on the impact of legal and administrative changes on corporate functions, including the firm's case management systems. Provide input and assist the Knowledge Advisory team with client research projects, as required, especially with data collection from Subject Matter Experts in their region. Manage large-scale client projects, including coordinating and overseeing large volumes of transactional immigration work arising from specific client needs, such as from a merger, acquisition, divestiture or other corporate restructuring. Develop an understanding of the firm's practice areas and services provided to support clients in immigration program management and compliance. Conduct in-depth research to support client requests and projects. Monitor and analyze immigration legislation, regulations, policy, adjudication trends, and practice changes. Partner with colleagues to resolve client issues, share information and support client projects. Provide real-time advice to internal leadership and external clients on novel and complex individual case matters and new or changing immigration policies. Establish and maintain relationships with Regional Knowledge Managers and SMEs in all regions and facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge capture. Should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited US law school with active bar membership. Must have 3-5 years of business immigration experience. Solid practical knowledge of along with a high level of comfort in working with technology tools such as Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint is required.
