This Sales Manager position has overall responsibility for managing and developing USG's sales relationship with and support of key Architects, Designers, Spec Writers and other influencers (Code Officials, Owners/ Facility Managers, CM's/GC's, and Property Managers)engaged in the commercial construction market with the goal of increasing preference and demand for USG ceiling and gypsum products, systems and capabilities. This position manages, coaches, trains and develops the Midwest Region's Architectural Sales Representatives in their current assignment and prepares them for future advancement opportunities and changing market conditions and challenges.
Position collaborates with the Shared Services Sales Organization, Corporate Accounts, International Architectural Services, channel customers, Product Mgmt, MarCom, and Ceiling Division leadership to provide effective architectural
and technical support and market feedback and insights.
Provides leadership, clear objectives, priorities, strategic plan and resources/support to the Regional Arch Sales Representatives with primary focus on (1)improving USG's specification and bidding position, (2)strengthening and expanding key client relationships, (3)supporting an effective and collaborative job tracking process, (4)launching and/or
promoting high impact USG product and service solutions and (5) skill/expertise development
Provides expertise and problem-solving skills based on deep product, business, competitive and construction industry knowledge, strong sales and presentation abilities and techniques, and effective internal and external networking and relationships.
Manages Regional expense budget and allocations and provides business/market/trend/performance/sales team updates and special project support as requested or assigned.
The Architectural Manager is expected to be in-market selling and supporting their sales team 40 â€“ 60% of the time.

Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
Knowledge and understanding of commercial construction industry, architectural/design processes, and multi-stage/long cycle B2B sales, conversion and client dynamics.
5 to 10 years of functional sales and/or managerial experience in Architectural Sales or similar functional area.
Strong computer skills and ~~~ expertise desirable
Demonstrated leadership, organizational and collaborative skills and strong interpersonal/time management/communication/computer skills.
Passion to succeed through team leadership, hands-on coaching, rep support and development, and outstanding customer/client service.
Salary midpoint (Grade 9) may be increased depending on prior experience.
Must be willing to locate to Midwest Region, Chicago area.
