A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its team in Addison, TX. The firm specializes in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and financial institution litigation, and is looking for a skilled attorney to manage complex cases in mortgage banking and financial services law. This position involves handling litigation from inception through resolution, with opportunities to represent clients in state and federal courts, including appellate matters. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in litigation, legal research, and strategy development.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive legal research, including analysis of Texas statutes and relevant case law, to build effective litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, legal briefs, motions, appeals, and other necessary legal documentation for litigation in District, County, and Appellate Courts, as well as Federal District Courts.
• Manage mortgage, financial services, and real estate litigation cases, guiding them from referral to resolution.
• Engage in written and oral advocacy, including motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in trials, hearings, and appellate proceedings, ensuring their interests are effectively presented.
• Participate in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes as needed.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in litigation, particularly in financial services, foreclosure, or bankruptcy law.
• Proficient in preparing and presenting legal arguments in court, both in written and oral formats.
• Expertise in handling complex cases involving mortgage banking and financial institutions.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas (required).
• Admitted to practice in both state and federal courts.

• Excellent legal research and writing skills, with the ability to develop clear, persuasive legal documents.
• Strong oral advocacy skills, with experience in presenting cases in court and during depositions.
