The Senior Counsel provides a full range of legal advice and services and works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Humana's Law Department is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide legal advice and support for its national commercial insurance, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid network operations. The position focuses on drafting and negotiation of provider contracts and providing legal advice and counsel to corporate and market operations on an array of matters affecting provider network contracting. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing internal policies and procedures and other documents that support network operations of the company.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from a ABA accredited school law school
5-10 years of experience, with at least 3 years of contract drafting
Active membership in a state bar association
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrate understanding of medical insurance provider network dynamics and apply this knowledge to situations, inquiries and document preparation.
Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with and positively influence others.
Experience with Valued based contracting

Vaccine Policy:
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Work-At-Home Requirements:
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
