Associate Attorney

Profile

Established, boutique general practice law firm in Delaware, Ohio, is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Associate Attorney to join the firm for a full-time position. We offer mentorship, prime downtown Delaware office space, and support staff. No book of business is required.

This is a salaried position with minimum billing requirements (after onboarding) and is perfect for an early-stage solo practitioner looking to affiliate with a firm to develop further experience. The position is based in Delaware, Ohio, but will require travel* to courts in Delaware, Ohio, as well as surrounding counties.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research, legal writing, and communication skills
• Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
• Possesses high social I.Q. and a desire to advocate for clients
• Prepared for the unpredictability and time demands of litigation practice; ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects at once, working both independently and as a team
• Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, staff, clients, opposing attorneys, and court personnel

Preferences:

• ~ 2 years of criminal and/or family law experience, including a minimum of 1 year of trial experience
• Strong command of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Ohio Revised Code to the extent of Divorce/Custody statute
• Strong command of the Rules of Criminal Procedure
