Promotes plant safety culture and goals. Assure regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
Takes a leadership role to ensure compliance with health/safety goals and vision and environmental regulations.
Understands and helps implement the site's Quality Policy and the Continuous Improvement Process.
Identifies and defines requirements for process improvement/productivity projects
Develops process engineering packages for new products or equipment with external support
Executes and tracks productivity projects
Supports troubleshooting process/production issues
Optimizes production planning guidance - Product Wheel, EOQ, etc.
Manages minor capital/non capital projects
Facilitates process mapping, kaizen and value stream mapping events aimed at developing a project pipeline
Develops process control support to ensure process/quality variations are minimized
Provides statistical data analysis, supports & facilitates RCAs
Conducts regulatory compliance calculations, reporting and interfacing
Writes and edits SOP/work instructions
Conduct Management of Change
Supports Process Hazard Analysis including GMP and PSSR
Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings
Manage process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.
Interfaces with internal and external customers on technical issues and to define product specifications and process capabilities.
Completes various projects including equipment improvements or replacements, safety or environmental projects, and any other improvement projects on the AQP or AOP.
Ability to work as an effective team leader and member with a diverse work force.
Solid technical aptitude and command of chemical process theory.
Proficient in creating, manipulating and utilizing detailed process mass and energy balances.
Troubleshooting skills to resolve process and mechanical issues.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Good computer skills for process / data analysis and reports.
Able to interpret data, plan ahead and anticipate / solve problems.
The successful candidate will be able to learn processes quickly; work well with others at all organizational levels; organize and prioritize multiple tasks with changing priorities, lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams and troubleshoot plant problems.
Must be driven to achieve results and able to demonstrate initiative and innovation
Posses the skills necessary to create and lead a culture of rapid change.

BS Degree in Chemical Engineering
5 years experience in manufacturing
Six Sigma certification is desirable
DCS and SAP experience is desirable.
