Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced and detail-oriented attorney to provide legal representation in pre- and post-foreclosure matters, including litigation, probate, bankruptcy, evictions, and title curative work. This role is based in Wyoming and offers the flexibility to work remotely while handling complex legal matters in mortgage default and real estate law.

Duties

  • Legal Case Management:
    • Handle pre- and post-foreclosure litigation and related legal processes.
    • Manage title curative actions, bankruptcy filings, and eviction cases.
    • Review and address debt disputes and escrow issues while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Compliance & Documentation:
    • Maintain adherence to FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and relevant state real estate statutes.
    • Ensure the preparation and delivery of accurate legal notices required by state and federal laws.
  • Client Representation:
    • Represent the firm’s clients in state and federal court proceedings, including mediation and litigation.
    • Deliver effective advocacy and legal strategies to secure favorable outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Reporting:
    • Coordinate with internal and external teams to facilitate seamless case management.
    • Provide well-documented case updates and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Other Responsibilities:
    • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the firm’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Licenses:
    • Active attorney license in Wyoming.
    • Colorado licensure is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of five years experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, and mortgage default legal matters.
    • Litigation experience in state courts is required; federal court experience is a plus.
    • Management experience is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and real property laws.
    • Strong ability to navigate complex legal issues and offer strategic solutions.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Wyoming.
  • Licensure in Colorado preferred.

Skills

  • Expertise in mortgage default and real estate law.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and with clients.
