Associate Attorney Insurance Defense Remote FL/GA

Liebler, Gonzalez & Portuondo is looking for an Associate Attorney to join our insurance practice group. The Ideal candidate will have at least two years’ experience. Experience in insurance defense is strongly preferred. This position is fully remote, but candidates must reside in the states of FL or GA. Candidates who are barred in both states will be highly considered.

Job Description

• Research the details and evidence involved in cases, review client documentation, or pleadings previously filed in a case, as well as applicable law.
• Interpret case law and decisions handed down by other applicable courts. This can involve analyzing the effects of many factors that might have been involved in other cases.
• Draft defensive motions including motions for protective order, motions to quash, etc.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and other documents, such as legal memorandums, and settlement agreements.
• Appear in court before a judge or jury to orally defend a client's rights and best interests.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed attorney in Florida (and ideally Georgia)
• Must have a great work ethic and work well in a team setting.
• Must be highly motivated & self-starter.
• Must be a professional with good business acumen.

Skills Sets

• Nerves of steel: An attorney must remain unflappable when things go wrong in court in front of a critical audience.
• Communication skills: An attorney must be able to communicate well both in writing and orally.
