The candidate provides leadership, strategic guidance, and management for the firm’s overall client intake functions of the firm, compliance, and conflict management in accordance with the laws of professional responsibility. Ensures that potential conflicts are quickly and accurately identified and resolved. Oversees the life cycle of matters from opening to closing to ensure all regulatory and compliance needs are met. Administers policy and procedure development and implementation for client life cycle management. Provides strategic guidance and analysis regarding new client intake and conflicts of interests to determine impact on firm, including investigating prospective clients/matters using online databases and analyzing, interpreting, and evaluating information from both a business and financial perspective. Participates in advising firm lawyers and staff on conflicts of interest, ethics, risk, and compliance issues regarding client intake and lateral hiring in conjunction with Office of General Counsel. Manages the negotiation and resolution of conflicts of interests regarding new client intake and lateral attorney hiring. Proficient in conflicts rules and approaches in specific practice areas and possess, maintain, and develop knowledge of conflicts rules in the firm's jurisdictions. Works closely with the firm’s General Counsel, firm management, administrative department leaders, and internal and external stakeholders on firm projects and initiatives. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Plans, assigns, and directs work. Conducts performance evaluations. Recommends salary levels to the Chief Operating Officer at the time of hire and at the point of performance reviews. Interviews, hiring, and training employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolving problems. J.D. is required; background in active practice of law is preferred. Should have 7+ years of conflict/client intake experience in a law firm. Demonstrate significant project management experience is required.
