Technical Writer
The candidate will be assisting with drafting and proofreading technical descriptions. No knowledge of patent law is initially required. Sketching rough drawings of features being shown and/or discussed. Coordinating third-party contractors to perform tasks. Communicating with patent attorneys and agents to ensure timely project completion and quality standards. Delivering excellent work product and superior service to the Firm’s clients; contributing to the Firm’s excellent reputation by providing highly responsive and effective administrative support to the patent team. Providing general administrative patent team support, as needed. Performing other work-related tasks as assigned. Bachelor’s degree is required. Writing-intensive majors (e.g., English, Journalism, Marketing) or technology-focused degrees is encouraged. Experience preparing product documentation, training manuals, or user-facing content is preferred. Exposure to technical course work is a plus. Exposure to, knowledge of, and interest in trending or cutting-edge technology is preferred. Drawing experience related to patent applications for new devices and device functions is preferred. Fundamental legal terminology knowledge is helpful.
