Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Wilmington, DE, is looking to expand its team by hiring an experienced Litigation Attorney. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about civil defense litigation and eager to work in a collaborative environment. The firm provides hands-on experience and exposure to a variety of complex litigation matters, including professional liability, employment claims, and medical malpractice.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, from initiation to expert discovery, in matters such as professional malpractice and employment claims.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct thorough legal research and investigations related to discovery.
• Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluations, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
• Review discovery responses and depositions, preparing summaries and litigation updates.
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve claims.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing legal analysis, status reports, and advice throughout litigation.

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to the Delaware Bar.
• Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, or employment litigation is highly preferred.
• Strong writing and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with Lexis software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Delaware Bar license required.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
