Performs a wide range of administrative support and data entry duties and coordinates a multitude of office procedures in support of the activities of the Resource Support Unit (RSU). Determines the proper allocation of RSU staff to the inpatient care units. Service Excellence, collaboration, teamwork, technical expertise, positive impact and problem solving are critical skills necessary for this position. Additional activities may be required at the request of the department and/or manager to ensure safe, effective and efficient operations of the facility. Patient and family centered care (PFCC) at Bridgeport Hospital (BH) is demonstrated by working with patients and their families based on the 4 principles of PFCC: participation, dignity and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great First Impression by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, physicians, staff and department personnel. Maintains HR files, Kronos editing, orientation materials, ongoing in-service preparation and record keeping.

Responsibilities
1. 1. Resource Allocation / Staffing: Ensures sound decision making and allocation of staffing to provide safe nurse patient ratios under the guidance and direction of the RSU management.
1.1 Verifies accuracy of daily staffing sheets as compared against the master schedule
2. Scheduling
2.1 Under the direction of the RSU management and in collaboration with the managers /assistant nurse managers of the inpatient units: creates monthly schedules according to the staffing and scheduling standards for all RNs/CCRNs/PCTs/BAs/and staffing and scheduling associates. The schedules will match budgeted staffing matrix covering shifts 24 hours per day / 7 days per week, including on call hours and High Incentive Pay (HIP), and adhering to schedule due dates.
3. Census Verification: Using the bed management system, documents as appropriate all bed movement activity to assist in the census compilation for distribution within the hospital to support hospital wide budget and financial goals.
3.1 Accurately verifies, reconciles and broadcasts the three census points to the census distribution group. Maintains a high degree of accuracy in recording all bed-movement information so as to ensure that data provided to administration for use in volume analysis and patient care division budgeting is accurate.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
Minuimum High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required.
EXPERIENCE
Experience with payroll software is preferred. Experience in healthcare environment is preferred. Experience and efficiency in computer skills with Microsoft Office software highly preferred. Experience with payroll and scheduling software in healthcare. Experience and efficient with computer skills and Microsoft office.
HOURS
Full time; Mon-Fri, occasional weekends
LICENSURE

SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and data entry preferred. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are required. Able to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
