Attorney - Litigation
The candidate will handle a large docket of litigation, regulatory enforcement and advisory matters. Litigate cases through arbitration or trial. Advocate and negotiate on behalf of the firm and its affiliates orally and in writing. Represent the Firm and employees in SEC, FINRA and state regulatory investigations and enforcement matters. Analyze disputes and other litigation matters, recommend settlement authority and negotiate for the Firm. Provide strategic and practical legal advice to different business partners. Communicate complex legal issues and advice clearly and succinctly to business leaders, regulators and clients. Work cross-functionally with the business, Risk and Compliance and other partners. Conduct internal and external regulatory reporting. Travel required depending on case assignments and hearing locations. Must have J.D. and member of Florida Bar in good standing. Should have strong academic credentials and demonstrated success as a litigator. Must have Trial or arbitration experience or extensive motion practice required (including developing/implementing trial strategy, making opening/closing statements, conducting oral arguments and/or examining witnesses). Should have strong oral and written advocacy and legal research skills. Experience with electronic discovery required. Should have 4-8 years of litigation experience in law firm, government or in-house.
