Commercial Lending Counsel

The candidate provides support to Bank management and associates in order to minimize legal risks and losses. Resolves complaints and legal claims through negotiation with clients, client legal representation, regulators, and other financial institutions. Consults with both internal and external counsel on the resolution of legal matters. Performs a range of tasks to support management and more senior legal counsel throughout daily operations. Effectively consults and communicates instructions on the handling of specific transactions or other sensitive matters. Develops and implements policies and procedures utilized across the enterprise. Drafts, negotiates, and maintains contracts or other transaction-specific legal documentation. Develops new legal forms and templates. Monitors federal and state laws, regulations, and court opinions to determine their impact on Bank operations. Translates complex legal matters into easily understood concepts for associates. Bachelor's Degree is required. Should have 6+ years of experience in General Practice, in-house, or specific to Lending, Bank Operations, or regulation of financial institutions OR High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in General Practice, in-house, or specific to Lending, Bank Operations, or regulation of financial institutions.
