The Department of Accounting at the University of Central Arkansas invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning as early as August 2021. The nine-month appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The Department of Accounting has 12 full-time faculty and over 250 majors seeking an undergraduate accounting major, Master of Accountancy (MAcc), or technical certificate in accounting. Local, regional and international firms recruit our graduates.
The College of Business, which is
Accredited, houses four academic departments (Accounting; Economics, Finance, Insurance, and Risk Management; Marketing and Management; and Management Information Systems), 14 undergraduate degrees, 2 graduate degrees (MAcc,
), and multiple certificates and minors. College enrollment typically exceeds 1,500 students each semester.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
An Assistant Professor at the University of Central Arkansas is expected to teach classes at the undergraduate and graduate level. The faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of accounting courses, as well as develop and maintain an active program of research leading to peer-reviewed publications. In addition, providing service to the students, department, college, university, and/or professional community is expected. Candidates should be willing to teach in both face to face and distance education formats.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Applicants should possess a command of the discipline, the ability to deliver effective instruction and assessment of student performance, and the capability of engaging in successful individual and collaborative research and scholarship.
Required Education and/or Experience
Minimum educational requirements include either (a) an earned doctorate in Accounting with significant hours of accounting coursework prior to doctorate or (b) an earned doctorate in business accompanied by significant accounting experience and prior degrees in accounting. (Candidates nearing completion of an earned doctorate will also be considered for an Assistant Professor position.)
Preferred Education and/or Experience
Significant professional experience and teaching experience, in either traditional or non-traditional settings, is desirable.
License(s)/Certifications (Required or Preferred)
certification is preferred. Other accounting certifications or a license to practice law will also be considered.
