Description L3 Autonomous Undersea Systems is one of the newest additions to the L3 Technologies organization and is a strategic component of the Maritime Sensor Systems sector. L3 Autonomous Undersea Systems is prepared for rapid disruption of unmanned maritime systems. The Vice President and General Manager of this new business area will provide executive leadership to build a team that will capture and execute new business in the autonomous undersea systems area, including growth through M&A initiatives. This position also has full responsibility for leading business operations in the Autonomous Undersea Division, providing overall growth strategy, organizational leadership, financial and organizational management, and sales and marketing strategy. Responsibilities: Build and lead a team to execute a long range, balanced, and effective campaign to compete, win and execute $200M per year of business in the autonomous undersea business area by 2022. Develop a 5 year strategic plan for the capture of autonomous undersea systems business and integrate\/align that plan with Divisional and Corporate strategic plans. Optimize divisional performance in terms of financial results and market share. Provide leadership to Business Development activities associated with Unmanned Programs including strategic business planning, new business forecasting and strategic capture. Lead division growth objectives by ensuring new business strategies are implemented and proposal requirements are managed appropriately. Find new business opportunities, validate opportunities, define customer requirements and lead the transition effort to a capture. Provides leadership to the proposal and capture efforts. Translates strategic priorities into operational reality by aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine division progress toward stated goals and objectives, and adjusts accordingly. Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products and programs are delivered on time with the highest level of quality and meet or exceed the division\u2019s profit targets. Communicates company goals and results to Sector senior management including financial reports, major business issues, strategic plans, budget appropriations, risks and opportunities. Conducts reviews of major bids and proposals to ensure success through opportunity, risk and financial analysis. Coordination of bid and proposals through L3 approved process. Ensures compliance with company policies, government laws and contracting requirements such as FAR ITAR, and import\/export, etc. Establishes, grows and maintains close customer relationships, participates in the marketing and sales process, and actively promotes the organization\u2019s capabilities and strengths; ensures that customer perspective is a driving force behind business decisions and activities. Drives high standards for individual, team, and organizational accomplishment through teamwork and empowerment; tenaciously works to meet or exceed challenging goals and foster continuous improvement. Creates and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the division. *LI-MK1 *IND Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Business or other technical field. Master\u2019s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline is preferred. A minimum of 15 years of work experience on a progressive career growth path, with much of that time in a senior operational management role with experience leading and motivating a diverse workforce\u00a0in manufacturing operations. Track record of success improving cost management, inventory management, supply chain management, quality, and delivery. 15 years\u2019 experience working on DoD Undersea Systems as an operator, prime contractor or subcontractor for a large prime in submarine or undersea systems. At least 7 years of experience working closely with business development, program management, engineering, and operations teams to build a cohesive organization in a government contracting environment. Experience managing an operations business with revenues of at least $100 million. Proven success managing and developing customer relations including the ability to understand customer needs and institute systems, processes, and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction. Has performed both a market and competitive analysis in order to create a strategic roadmap for growing the business. This includes identifying potential strategic alliances, product line enhancements as well as competitive positioning for specific pursuits. Specific experience selling underwater acoustic, undersea sensors, or unmanned systems. Hands-on pragmatic approach to business, asset management, cash flow and profitability Ability to obtain required Department of Defense (\DOD\) clearances. A strong natural leadership style that moves people to take action, motivates and inspires excellence A prudent change agent, able to quickly assimilate to a new organization effectively Must be results-oriented with a focus on performance, cost management and profitable bottom-line. Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets goals and strong skills in program execution to schedule and budget.
