Payroll Specialist
The candidate will work almost exclusively in Workday and ADP inputting and correcting data. Review and audit new hire and departure notifications from Workday to ensure the 100% accuracy of data entered in the payroll system. Any data correction required after the completion of the audit is communicated to Human Resources immediately. Update employee payroll records by entering changes to tax status and employee direct deposit information. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll. Calculate pay for contract personnel and process off-cycle checks, including retroactive pay increases, final paychecks, and corrections. Process involuntary deductions such as wage levies or garnishments. Calculate and deduct from employees’ wages in accordance with the order. Prepare and file quarterly reports for the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries. Respond to requests for verification of employment. Semi-monthly, run reports for employee charitable contributions. Prepare check requests for payment to the charities in accordance with Firm policy. Coordinate paid and unpaid leave with Benefits. Create, manage, and maintain spreadsheet used to calculate state pay integration. Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency. Support the implementation of payroll-related initiatives and projects. Perform other duties, as assigned. Be aware of, comply with, and enforce all Firm policies. Present at work during regularly scheduled working hours and as needed in the position, consistent with the Firm’s attendance expectations. Require extended hours during payroll processing days. Should have high school diploma, or equivalent, and 4-6 years of payroll experience. Associate’s degree is preferred. Should have substantial experience working with payroll applications; Workday & ADP software (Vantage) is preferred.
