POSISTION SUMMARY

Liaise with design/creative teams and select TPG functions (e.g. desktop support, information security and infrastructure) for the setup, install, training, operation and overall health and maintenance of deployed media equipment such as projectors, speakers, TV’s, video monitors, cameras, video conferencing equipment, and associated multi-media software for both onsite and remote users. To ensure success as an AV Technician you should have knowledge of the equipment outlined above as well as experience with lighting, filming & livestreaming techniques, and exceptional troubleshooting skills.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES

General/Broad

• Serve as initial point-of-contact /point-of-escalation for all “urgent/time-sensitive” technical issues impacting the day-to-day operation of design/creative teams
• Ability to show patience and compassion for people in crisis or with a diversity of needs

Specific

• Meeting with Event Coordinators to discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
• Altering venue arrangements according to layout diagrams.
• Laying electrical and sound cables.
• Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras.
• Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
• Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.
• Operating sound and visual equipment during live events.
• Manage Video Conferencing events utilizing “fit-for-purpose” conferencing solutions/approach
• Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
• Maintaining strong customer relations.
• Disassembling audio and visual equipment and packing up after the event.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

• Developing level of knowledge & skills - typically 2-5 Years of related experience
• Technical Degree Required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Previous experience working as an AV Technician.
• In-depth knowledge of sound, video, and lighting equipment.
• Experience with Cisco WebEx events and livestreaming technologies
• Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems and video conferencing equipment
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• A keen eye for detail.
• High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
