KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Sales lead for a strategic business unit with goal to drive profitable sales growth for both Smucker & Target Business ManagementBuild and maintain relationships within TargetBuild & maintain relationship with all internal constituentsDevelop strategies to drive brand\/category growth and achieve or exceed sales\/profit goals Own & lead negotiation for JBP, new items, key initiatives, etc.Influence Target partners to implement solutions through fact based presentations that deliver results that are beneficial for both companiesSupport and partner with Supply Chain team to drive solutions at TargetGrow partnership between Target and Smucker MDO\/Marketing to drive innovation and business opportunitiesManage execution of everyday business, including Target forms, CNA, POL, item setup\/ maintenance, online content, logistics and inventory management, etc.Work with broker to implement retail priorities and monitor retail standards\u00a0 Business Planning & AnalysisOwn annual business plan & Target JBPPerform in-depth analysis of sales and profit components, including merchandising, promotional and supply chain opportunitiesWork with syndicated\/MIQ\/other data sources to manage and inform strategic and tactical plansManage internal sales system (promotions, deductions, forecast, etc)Effectively manage trade budget and visibilityForecast monthly and quarterly sales and communicate internally for production planningAd-hoc financial and data analysis, including pre\/post event analysisDrive business process improvements by working closely with cross-functional business partners and team People ManagementManage direct report (Sales Analyst)Manage workload, career progression, training, etc in partnership with AnalystProvide coaching for direct report & indirect reportsAct as sales leader within office by supporting and contributing positively to culture SELECTION CRITERIA Education Bachelor's degree is required Experience A minimum of 3 years of CPG sales or marketing experience is required. 5 years is strongly preferred. Food & Beverage sales experience preferred Previous experience calling on National Account headquarters is preferred (Target strongly preferred) Professionally trained in negotiation preferred (GAP preferred) People management preferred Other Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Strong technical skills in office applications (i.e Excel, PowerPoint) Proficient in use of syndicated data sources (IRI\/Nielsen) and Target data sources (MIQ, POL, etc) is strongly preferred Ability to relocate in the future for other job opportunities within the company is required Ability to travel up to 20% of work schedule is a must Must live in the Minneapolis, MN area or be willing to relocate to this area immediately upon hire. Must be willing to work out of our Edina, MN regional sales office on a daily basis (unless travelling for work)
