The Telemetry Transporter works with Patient Transport Services and will be responsible for recording patient care activities on the appropriate form in a timely fashion, completing all entries with date, time and signature in accordance with the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania Policy, and show awareness of nutrition, fluid balance and elimination. Will support and contribute to the Penn Medicine patient satisfaction goals, and perform measurement of vital signs with frequency as assigned by the RN, and/or according to the changing patient need. Will set up and administer oxygen therapy by applying nasal cannula and masks, humidifiers, flow meters regulates flow rates ordered by RN or MD and empty water from tubing as needed. The ability to manage adverse situations and facilitate a resolution is essential.
High School Diploma or GED, current EMT Certification, and a minimum of one-year of previous hospital or related employment experience is required. Successful completion of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program, Penn Medicine education requirements, an accredited EKG Technician program or successful completion of UPHS dysrhythmia course is required. Prior experience as an EMT, Nurse Assistant or Patient Care Technician is preferred.
