Subrogation and Recovery Department Attorney

The candidate will be evaluating and handling 300+ large property claims per year and for coordinating the investigation, including retention and management of experts, identifying potential theories of liability, and client reporting. There are no yearly billable hour or production requirements, though the position requires a 40 hour work week from both home and the office. This low stress position is primarily to triage large losses, closing those that are nonviable with client approval, and identifying claims with an appropriate factual and legal basis for recovery pursuit. Department attorneys also will be responsible for pursuing a limited number subrogation claims. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of four years of experience in handling insurance claims, preferably subrogation and recovery matters, or three years of experience in commercial litigation. Excellent interpersonal, research and writing skills, and California license are required.
