POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patternmaker is responsible for developing, creating, and implementing design patterns from conception through to follow through based on design specifications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for design management and development from conception to follow through.
• Prepares patterns for various collections by hand.

• Oversees aesthetic development of each collection.

• Attends fittings with cross-functional partners.

• Responsible for silhouette and construction development.
• Responsible for fabrication of the collection including first samples
• Provides direction to the Sewing team to ensure samples are completed accurately.
• Ensures production deadlines are adhered to.
• Researches construction techniques and industry trends.
• Designs proposals for pattern making and construction.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Experience:

• 15+ years of previous experience as a Patternmaker

Education: Patternmaking and sewing classes, preferable training in Lectra or any similar patternmaking software

Skills:

• Must possess highly developed standards of excellence with garment fit and execution
• Ability to work with luxury and innovative fabrics and leathers
• Highly motivated individual who possesses the motivation to be part of the creative process, and the enthusiasm to develop new and innovative solutions to garment construction in tandem with design concepts.
• Must possess high fashion aesthetics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
• Must possess creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
• Flexible to deadlines, weekend work, and long hours as needed.
