Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Lead, oversee and recommend both short- and long-term research activities, creating a research plan
Leads the creation and communication of research artifacts, findings, reports, and recommendations to stakeholders
Lead planning of research topics and usability tests and contribute to the analysis and synthesis of research findings
Provide leadership, research guidance and mentorship to team members; provide coaching on feedback gathering techniques.
Lead management of usage analytics and Voice of the Customer solutions, mining usage data, and communicating findings to stakeholders
Frame, scope, and lead execution of design research projects
Lead constructive design critiques
Propose design or product solutions based on research and synthesis outcomes; influence change
Select and use appropriate design research methods to address design opportunities.
Plan and conduct interview sessions with users and stakeholders, including executives.
Research and evaluate emerging design, technology, and industry trends; champion new ideas as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college with minimum of 5 years of professional experience OR Associates degree with minimum of 7 years of professional experience OR High School Diploma with minimum of 10 years of professional experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in User Experience
Note: Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
Desired Qualifications:
5 years experience with complex environments experience handling problems both in the digital and physical realms. Human Factors Research a plus.
Experience with crafting end-user experiences within Microsoft 365 (Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive). Experience within Government Community Cloud High a plus.
Experience with Lean methodology
Discovery Research experience – mapping and understanding the ecosystem that users interact with. Experience with envisioning a whole space inclusive of people, process, and technology.
Experience developing deeper level of Analysis –setting metrics to provide meaningful changes to processes to support the end-users.
Proven successful relationship management within complex ecosystems (ex: multiple data streams, silos, conflicting goals, knowledge/experience gaps)
Experience communicating poor end-user experience, impacts to business outcomes, and areas to focus on opportunities to senior leadership.

Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research activities such as ethnographic studies and usability studies

Experience with creating Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, and OneDrive standards at an enterprise level
Experience leading management of usage analytics and Voice of the Customer solutions, mining usage data, and communicating findings to stakeholders
High attention to detail; extremely strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of research tools and guerrilla research tactics
Mastery of Agile/Lean UX methodologies

Ability to creates, analyze and manage projects that provide direct business benefit.
Demonstrates detailed knowledge of business operations and strategic direction, including merger & acquisition opportunities.
Sees patterns within industry issues. Demonstrates how UX provides solutions for internal/external customer challenges.
Ability to takes various stakeholders through the design thinking process to frame a project.
Ability to create an understanding of how individual people and things fit within larger structures (like systems or organizations), as well as the relationships between parts of a system and the system as a whole.
Leadership:
Experience using root cause analysis to identify, correct and/or eliminate the causes of problems as well as the problem itself.
Ability to keeps participants focused on task and end process, ensuring full participation
Demonstrated active listening skills and the ability to diffuse tense collaboration and decision-making situations in teams.
Notes:
The salary range for this position is $107,500-$179,200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive plan.
