Staff Attorney
The candidate must be licensed Attorney or law school graduate with experience in Pennsylvania agricultural law and Pennsylvania shale law to work in the Center for Agricultural and Shale Law on a variety of research, writing, and outreach projects. This position reports to and provides support for the Director of the Center for Agricultural and Shale Law. This position is responsible for conducting legal research and disseminating legal information to outside stakeholders through a variety of methods including the preparation of written, verbal, and electronic work product. Additional responsibilities for a level 2 position include providing assistance in the development of policies, procedures, and programs for the management of the Center operations and work product, as well as assisting in the identification of internal controls and mechanisms to monitor compliance with applicable requirements associated with the receipt of external funding by the Center. This job will be filled as a level 1 or level 2, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a J.D. or L.L.B. from an ABA-accredited law school or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 1. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. Should be knowledgeable about current issues and the relevant stakeholders within Pennsylvania’s agricultural and shale communities.
