What part will you play?
The Senior Manager, Business Unit Reporting is part of the EFS Infrastructure Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for day-to-day execution of general accounting activities, record-to-report processes and operating activities handled by the Service Delivery Center (SDC) for WB Technology (WBT) and Studio Facilities. Specifically, this position will be responsible for:
All month & quarter end close activities such as: Pro-active planning to ensure overall timelines and accuracy of the month end close process; ensuring the activities are in compliance with SOX key controls if applicable.
Review all critical or high-risk journal entries, reports, and balance sheet flux prepared by the SDC as applicable (Revenue accrual, sub-cash, intracompany profit eliminations etc.).
Review trial balance analysis and ensure significant variances are identified, explained and appear reasonable.
Review and sign-off on financial verification grids and ensure compliance to EFS standardized process.
Review footnotes and supplemental schedules as required by the Financial Reporting and Budgeting team (FRB).
Review or prepare Financial Statements and management reports required by the Business Unit Finance Team.
Responsible for all day-to-day activities such as account reconciliations; C-item issues, account analysis/research, and support for Business Unit Finance queries.
Conduct research on variances from the Recon Tool Analysis report.
Prepare and present Quarterly Balance Sheet review to EFS leadership and Business Unit Finance.
Support requests from EY auditors, Compliance team and Tax.
Act as liaison for EFS in connection with Business Unit Finance, Financial Operations organizations, Business Unit departments (sales, marketing, business affairs, Studio Operations, VIP Tours, Office Services, etc.) and various WB Corporate departments (FRB, FPP, Tax, WBT, Treasury, Legal, Participations).
Develop staff into mature financial advisors with a customer service orientation.
Seek out, identify, and implement process improvements/standardizations to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness.
What do we require from you?
CPA and/or advanced degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or related field.
8 years previous work experience in an accounting or finance field with at least 2 years of experience managing staff.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles (US GAAP), including intercompany and foreign currency accounting.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle and/or Microsoft Dynamics.
Domestic & international travel required as needed.
Bonus points for: Knowledge or and familiarity with new FASB revenue recognition standards.
Prior experience working in shared service and/or outsourcing environment.
Prior experience working in the entertainment industry.
Project Management skills.
Advanced Macros knowledge in Excel.
