Family Law Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Edmonds, WA, is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to provide legal advice, counsel clients, conduct discovery, prepare legal briefs, develop arguments, and represent clients in various legal proceedings. The ideal candidate should be an active member of the Washington State Bar Association with at least 5 years of litigation experience, including 2 years of family law experience. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with a demonstrated record of excellent client service. The attorney should be committed to developing a book of business and using the firm's marketing tools to grow their practice. Familiarity with FamilySoft, PracticeMaster, TABS, and Worldox is a plus, as is proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and general technology competence.

Duties:

• Provide legal advice and work product under the supervision of an attorney or client.
• Meet with clients and counsel them on their legal needs.
• Conduct all aspects of discovery and gather evidence for defense or legal action.
• Prepare legal briefs, arguments, and testimony for case presentations.
• Attend oral arguments for mediations, motions, arbitrations, and trials.
• Conduct legal research, and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and interviews.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Draft various legal documents in a timely manner.

Requirements:

• Admitted to and an active member of the Washington State Bar Association.
• A minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, including 2 years of family law experience.
• Ability to delegate work to staff.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated record of excellent client service.
• Commitment to developing a book of business and utilizing the firm's marketing tools.
• Dedication to daily time entry into the firm's time and billing software (TABS).
• Familiarity with FamilySoft, PracticeMaster, TABS, and Worldox is a plus.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and general technology competence.
