General Counsel

The candidate will partner with direct manager and senior management to implement and manage an effective legal program. Will increase internal efficiencies by developing and reviewing company policies and handbook with the knowledge of industry standards. Ensure legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws for employees and freelancers. Responsible for investigating legal concerns and providing proper audit response of non-compliance and suggesting measures to take if non-compliance becomes an issue. Assess and quantify legal risk and litigation avoidance to provide strategic options for company operations and business decisions. Advise management on the company’s risk factors through detailed reports and respond promptly to policy violations. Consistently and proactively provide a cognitive assessment of the effectiveness of policies and procedures, and make recommendations accordingly. Provide accurate and timely counsel to the senior management team on a variety of legal topics towards the achievement of its established goals and of all material deviations from the company’s goals, objectives, and policies. Be available to brief the senior management team on legal matters for review in advance of meetings of the board. Implement improvements to contract templates and the contract management processes. Ensure the development of safety practices and data privacy practices for the business and oversee compliance with those practices. Promptly and accurately respond to client requests for information (RFIs)Consult with internal teams (IT, HR and Operations) as well as international affiliates to identify, develop, implement, and manage policy guidelines that will build or modify business capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes. Assist and Liaise with internal teams (IT, HR and Operations)in ad-hoc projects as needed or assigned. Stay apprised of and advise management of new laws and regulations or when changes have been made in the US. Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization (work related).
