Research Compliance Officer

The candidate will be responsible for: Provides critical regulatory oversight of Sutter Health’s research programs. Designs, implements and manages a research compliance program that promotes high ethical standards in the conduct of research throughout Sutter Health. Creates research standards of conduct and relevant Sutter-wide research compliance policies and procedures, for development and implementation of a comprehensive research compliance training curriculum for researchers and applicable administrative staff, and for investigating alleged improprieties related to the conduct of research, and for overseeing implementation of necessary corrective action and remedial measures when irregularities are discovered. Works with the Research Integrity Officer on any allegation of misconduct in science that may occur throughout Sutter Health. Must have Bachelor’s degree or clinical degree in health care related field with substantial experience in healthcare compliance will be considered. Master’s degree preferred. (e.g., MPH, MBA, MHA, JD, MD, etc.). Certification in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) required. Must have significant experience with laws and regulations controlling the conduct of research, and in the use of compliance programs and mechanisms to reduce the risk of non-compliance, as typically obtained in 7 or more years of increasingly responsible roles. Leadership experience, preferably supervisory/ managerial. Should have in-depth knowledge of research-related laws, regulations and institutional standards and the risks associated with conducting clinical research. Must have strong working knowledge of healthcare compliance.
