The Fair Housing Rights Center in Southeastern Pennsylvania (FHRC) is a non-profit civil rights organization committed to ensuring equal housing opportunities for people protected by federal, state, and local fair housing laws.  FHRC is looking to hire an experienced full-time Director of Enforcement for its fair housing Enforcement program. 

Purpose: The Director of Enforcement is primarily responsible for the operation of the Enforcement program, a project designed to identify and monitor housing providers for compliance with fair housing laws. The Director of Enforcement provides complaint intake, investigation, and resolution of the fair housing complaints. Duties include: fair housing complaint intake; investigation; advocacy; resolution for victims of housing discrimination; and compliance training. The Director of Enforcement is also known as the Fair Housing Initiative Program-Private Enforcement Initiative Project Coordinator or Manager who coordinates and evaluates activities and is responsible for submission of required reports, as well as other program work that may arise with changes in funding or staffing. The Director of Enforcement works closely with and reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work on numerous activities at same time and work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to civil rights work.
  • Experience working as an advocate for victims.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing Act and other anti- discrimination laws.
  • Ability to plan and implement a project working with community partners to complete program goals.
  • Law degree from an accredited law school. Excellent academic credentials PA Bar admission required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a benefit.
  • Salary: Minimum $50,000 DOE. Medical, dental and retirement benefits available. Excellent opportunity for personal growth.
