NA WHS Senior Governance and Compliance Manager
The candidate will lead a team that interacts with safety and health regulatory agencies. Will engage, collaborate and partner with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) within WHS and other functions i.e. operations, engineering, all WHS business units, RME, purchasing etc. to continually reduce risks and improve network WHS standards and procedures. Role involves hands-on work in the areas of understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, WHS regulatory research, stakeholder engagement, data analytics and document technical writing. Work collaboratively with SMEs, data analysts and support WHS teams across NA. Develop a standard to manage government agency interactions, track relationships, and identify trend areas for improvement. Stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to change standards when required. Measure business and site performance against published requirements in WHS standards. For all deficiencies, ensure plans are implemented to address areas of weakness. Work with operations WHS partners and early intervention teams to address deficiencies. Stay attuned to changing regulations and internal WHS performance to change policies when required. Serve as a liaison between WW WHS and all business units, such as NACF WHS, GSF WHS and ATS WHS for continual alignment. Understand and analyze WHS data and information (e.g. WHS laws, regulations, bench marking studies, industry best practices) to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where risk is highest. Lead, develop, deploy and support implementation of standards, processes, procedures, guidelines and training as required by regulation, internal standards, and business growth. Support building WHS competency and awareness across different business units Lead, develop and deploy a standard method for monitoring work performed by contractors, and consultants, in accordance with WHS standards. Lead process efficiency and compliance effectiveness through process verification and validation plans and the development of process flow diagrams that describe critical process interdependencies with respect to process inputs, outputs, risks and impacts. Monitor performance of business units against applicable regulatory compliance and internal standards.
