Title: Technical Field Support consultant

Duration: through 8/6/2025

Location: Candidate will be traveling statewide 3-5 days per week

Job Duties:

Provide technical consulting and operational support services to multiple counties throughout NY State. The technical site field consultant(s) will be responsible for field support related to cabling identification, PC, Server, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAP's), and data/network communications equipment installation, relocation and removal.

Completion of site survey documentation (site survey workbook, etc.)

Document the site environment through photographs.

Provide rack and/or data closet information leveraging templated documentation.

With client guidance and oversight, consultant will assess the current environment and perform a needs analysis to ensure the site has the necessary equipment to function as required.

Assist in performing network equipment installation, relocation, and removal. Provide support for onsite equipment, such as Workstations (PC's), Servers, VoIP Phones, Wireless Access Points (WAP's).

Identification and installation/deinstallation support for networking and data communications equipment.

Provide field support for rack and stack and identification associated to network connectivity.

Provide site survey support, basic site survey preparation, cable connectivity, troubleshooting.

Provide network assistance, inventory, and asset control oversight.

Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED with Math, Sciences, Engineering or technical background preferred, but not required.

Minimum of four years' experience.

Required Skills:

48 Months conducting technical site surveys. Site survey template will be provided.

48 Months installing/identifying/data communications equipment (not configuring or programming)

48 Months experience in cable identification and troubleshooting

48 Months experience in desktop troubleshooting

Travel will be 3-5 days per week statewide.
