Trust Officer
The candidate will administer fiduciary trust accounts and agency investment accounts. Provide trust and estate planning solutions and wealth transfer strategies to clients and prospects in partnership with firm associates and departments. Review and interpret estate and trust documents (i.e. wills, trusts, powers-of-attorney, health care directives, pre-nuptials, partnership agreements, irrevocable life insurance trusts, etc.). Assist in the review of gift tax and estate tax returns for clients. Understand tax research and approaches and prepare analysis for retirement assets in correlation with trust and estate planning. Keep abreast of tasks to be performed for each client, open items, and mission documents/information. Research, gather, and compile data and information, prepare reports and summaries, and replies to inquiries, selecting relevant data from a variety of sources. Monitor, reconcile and assist with fiscal administration of the Trust Company. Participate on projects and/or introduction of new initiatives, systems, products/services and processes. Provide and/or oversee support activities, including answering telephones; resolving problems and inquiries of visitors; reviewing and controlling incoming and outgoing correspondence; and following up on departmental commitments. Establish, update, and maintains files, inventories and records. Maintain data management systems, as required. Must have Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or Juris Doctorate (J.D.). Should preferably have 5+ year experience as a trust officer in a banking or securities industry. Series 7 and 66 (or 63/65) preferred.
