A law firm seeks a Technology Specialist with expertise in patent prosecution and a strong Computer Science or Electrical Engineering background, particularly in electronics and wireless standards. The ideal candidate will also possess strong Korean language skills, although this is preferred and not mandatory. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting patent applications, corresponding with patent offices, advising patent litigation teams, and conducting interviews with inventors. The role requires superior writing skills, excellent academic credentials, and, ideally, registration before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.

Job Overview: The Technology Specialist will support the firm's patent prosecution efforts by drafting patent applications, corresponding with patent offices, advising litigation teams, and conducting inventor interviews. The role requires a strong Computer Science or Electrical Engineering background, focusing on electronics and wireless standards. Fluency in Korean is preferred but not required.


  • Draft patent applications for innovative clients, including descriptions and figures.
  • Correspond with the patent office about pending patent applications.
  • Advise patent litigation teams based on your technical and scientific area of expertise.
  • Interview inventors about new ideas.


  • Strong background in either Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in electronics and wireless standards.
  • Strong Korean language skills are preferred.
  • 0-4 years of patent prosecution experience.
  • Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.
  • Registered before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (required).
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) (preferred).
  • Registration before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office (preferred).


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency in patent law and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
