Responsibilities: Provide legal support to Special Assets Department and other areas of Bank involved with commercial credit. Identify, address and mitigate legal risks and industry developments associated with workout of commercial credit relationships. Handle select workout matters internally, including evaluation of documentation, development of strategy with workout officer, negotiation and drafting any necessary documentation. In matters handled by outside counsel, provide internal legal support as appropriate. Provide internal legal training. Coordinate with other areas of Bank (e.g., Commercial Risk) as appropriate.
