Special Prosecutor
The candidate will be responsible for: Reviews police agency referrals and makes appropriate charging decisions. Prepares cases for prosecution and resolution. Drafts criminal complaints and other legal documents as requested by attorney staff. Assists prosecutors in case preparation and resolution. Represents the State of Wisconsin in court as Public Service Special Prosecutor. Researches issues of law and prepares memorandums, motions, and briefs. Maintains regular and predictable attendance, works overtime/extra hours as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have Law degree from accredited law school. Wisconsin Bar Association membership desirable. May 2020 Law School Graduates Encouraged to Apply. Should have ability to operate a variety of office equipment including computer, telephone, and dictaphone. Must have knowledge of criminal law and judicial procedures. Should have thorough knowledge of research techniques.
