Scottsdale office of our client seeks a criminal defense attorney with prior experience at a public defender's office, county/city attorney's office, or an Arizona criminal defense law firm. The candidate will request discovery and conduct investigations. Interview police officers and witnesses. File and argue pretrial motions. Handle misdemeanor and felony trials. Work with investigators and provide guidance to assigned paralegals. Attend court appearances in superior courts, justice courts, and city courts. Attend administrative hearings as they relate to DUI license suspensions. Attend disciplinary hearings for college students. Work with clients to better understand the criminal procedure and keep them informed of the status of their cases. Conduct in-office and telephonic consultations. Work closely with administrative staff to ensure the professional and steady flow of cases. Should ideally have experience: handling misdemeanor and felony cases; handling DUI cases, including knowledge of the motor vehicle division; and conducting consultations.
