Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm seeks an experienced Associate Attorney to join its New York, NY team, supporting senior partners on complex litigation matters in a hybrid work model.

Duties

• Draft and refine pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses

• Manage deposition processes, including preparing witnesses and issuing interrogatories

• Conduct and defend depositions on behalf of clients

• Perform in-depth legal research and synthesize findings into memoranda

• Represent clients at court appearances and support trial preparation

Requirements

• 5-7 years of civil litigation experience in New York, with emphasis on casualty, premises liability, and environmental defense matters

• Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey bar membership a plus)

• Proven ability to work under the guidance of senior attorneys on high-stakes cases

• Exceptional writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills

• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities

Education

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the New York State Bar

• Effective deposition strategy and witness examination

• Proficient legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, or equivalent platforms
