Director Of Legal Services

The candidate will provide legal representation on family law matters (i.e. divorce, protective orders, custody issues, property settlements and support orders). Provide legal advocacy, information, and referral to clients. Provide legal representation on family law matters (i.e. divorce, protective orders, custody issues, property settlements and support orders). Provide legal information and advice to clients regarding family law matters, offering referral and advocacy as needed. Attend court hearings as scheduled. Maintain membership with the Texas Bar Association and other organizations as determined by the agency. Maintain client contact hard files and e-files in a consistent and timely manner. Attend meetings, classes and clinics as required by the agency. Maintain sufficient number of CLE units as required by the State Bar of Texas. Maintain the monthly statistical reports. Assist in developing, maintaining and updating an attorney referral list. Create forms required for Legal Services Department. Provide regular training on family law and domestic violence related issues to colleagues and other professionals. Supervise the activities and staff of the Legal Services Department, including the Family Law Attorney, Paralegal, and Legal Advocates. The Legal Services Director will supervise student interns and volunteers upon request. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and hiring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
