Description

The Senior Data Quality/Integrity Engineer understands end-to-end master data processes and flows and uses that knowledge to design and implement master data management solutions. The Senior Data Quality/Integrity Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

In this key role on the Quality Systems Integration (QSI) team, the QSI Senior Data Quality/Integrity Engineer will leverage their Humana, clinical data, market, and healthcare expertise to analyze, identify, and engage the most valuable data connections to procure supplemental and lab data driving HEDIS gap closures. This role will work to mature existing data connections/processes along with helping the team establish new connections while supporting the datamarts as the primary source for supplemental/lab data for the yearly HEDIS process.

Primary Responsibilities:

Support existing Attestation connections and maintain existing process by formatting and loading data as files are received.

Partner with the QSI connection leads to establish data feeds for HEDIS data and maximize the quality of the data procured digitally and manually.

.Establish and mature best in class data quality and procurement strategy and tactics that support annual HEDIS season and Humana strategy. Support yearly Attestation review and update of the templates and processes.

Support HEIDS questions and research needed utilizing the datamarts to identify and understand data issues and improvements.

Test new connections data and layouts to verify they meet database loading requirements.

Partner on most aspects of data acquisition development and deployment of data focused enhancements and functionality.

Partner with Quality Improvement Market Quality Operations (QOCA) and Medical Risk Adjustment (MRA) on data flow, policies, processes, and procedures in support of the Attestation collection.

Perform necessary Adhoc reporting and addressing questions around data collection.

Skills:

Above average knowledge of Microsoft Excel including some VBA experience for macro maintenance and creation.

Knowledge and use of various data/reporting tools similar to Alteryx, Qlikview, PowerBI, SercureFX, Microsoft Access, and others.

Clinical coding experience using LOINC and CPT codes.

Basic knowledge and use of SQL.

Adept at evaluating alternatives and deciding on a plan of action.

Exceptional data analysis skills dealing with large relational databases.

Good communication skills; oral, written, and listening skills.

Healthcare understanding especially around Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans.

Creative thinking focused on solving problems and identifying simple and innovative solutions.

Leadership abilities across cross functional areas and in a multiple project environments, with proven collaboration with team members and key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.

3 - 5 years experience in data focused role utilizing reporting and analytics applications and tools.

3 years experience working with healthcare / lab data / clinical data.

Knowledge of clinical coding and understanding of CPT and LOINC code hierarchies.

Experience with knowledge management, business transformation, and change management.

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior leaders, cross department leaders, and all levels inside and outside of Humana.

Ability to assign and complete priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) exposure and understanding a plus.

Additional Information

This position is located at the Humana Tower in Louisville, Kentucky as well as open to working remote with ability to travel to Kentucky
