EOO Investigator
The candidate ‘will be assigned to work under the direction of Director for Equal Opportunity. The incumbent will design and facilitate professional development/training programs in coordination with the Office of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity and Outreach, the Division of Student Affairs, and other campus partners. The Investigator will work closely with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Equal Opportunity & Diversity and Inclusion and the Director of Equal Opportunity and Outreach and other campus stakeholders to ensure compliance with state and federal statutes and University policy. Should have Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, pre-law, business, human resources, or another related field. Demonstrated (5-7 years) relevant professional experience in workplace investigations, labor relations, alternate dispute resolution, or equal employment opportunity/human resources experience in a higher education institution or a large, unionized organization; Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state equal opportunity and non-discrimination laws and regulations including Title IX, Title VII, ADA / Sec. 504, Violence Against Women Act and other applicable laws and regulations as required. Should have knowledge of the principles of conducting trauma-informed investigations. Ability to manage multiple, on-going caseload of reported and complaints filed under university policies and procedures. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. Should preferably have a Master’s degree in a related field or a J.D. with at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in conducting investigations within higher education in matters involving employees.
