Paralegal / Documentation Specialist
The candidate will sole paralegal/ documentation specialist role on Asset Management Alternatives Legal Team. Serve as primary legal contact delegate for Asset Management Alternatives fund entities. Responsible for reviewing and approving a significant volume of Asset Management Alternatives fund and other legal entities entered into the Global Entity Management System (GEMS) for entity maintenance and reporting through the Regulatory Management System (RMS), giving consideration to bank regulatory issues. Assist with corporate governance of various management and fund entities. Prepare. Review and comment on non-disclosure agreements (“NDAs”) with oversight from a lawyer on the team. Interact with business contacts. Work closely with other members of the Legal Department and other control functions (e.g., Compliance, Risk) both within the U.S. and globally to identify and resolve issues. Perform all other duties as necessary or assigned to provide a high-caliber line of business legal support. Various other responsibilities and opportunities to participate in growing and robust platforms as appropriate. Should have an excellent academic record. Familiarity with working in an investment funds business in a large financial institution and/or the Bank Holding Company Act is a plus. Strategic skills are required to anticipate issues for the broader legal team and business and actively identifying opportunities to assist is a must; strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; an organized self-starter able to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously; ability to work independently; ability to be a proactive, dynamic member of a team. Willingness to learn and apply relevant laws and regulations such as the Investment Advisers Act and the Bank Holding Company Act. Solutions-oriented with the -ability to understand and respond to business needs and partner with the businesses and control functions.
