Benefits Analyst
The candidate will be collaborative, results-oriented people who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have exceptional problem-solving skills. Will be working closely with staff, attorneys and paralegals. Will provide oversight and administration for the benefits program, including health and welfare benefits, leave of absence and other ancillary benefits and wellness programs. Responsible for all aspects of leave administration (FMLA, state-mandated leaves, short and long-term disability, workers compensation). Act as benefits technical expert and provide guidance to Benefits Coordinator and HR team members. Consult with and advise stakeholders on complex matters regarding eligibility, provisions and other matters related to benefits and leaves of absence. Collaborates in the preparation of employee benefits communications. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, analytical, auditing and problem-solving skills, ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment will be preferred. Will be responsible to manage all leaves of absence, ensure compliance with federal and state laws (including Puerto Rico). Will work closely with leave and disability outsource vendors. Will track all leaves of absence (FMLA, Parental, etc.) in order to provide statistics and analysis of program utilization. Will also oversee all work/life benefits plans to ensure compliance with plan documents and federal, state and local regulations. Participate in a variety of benefits surveys to collect and analyze information to make recommendations with respect to firm’s competitive position with respect to Benefit offerings. Respond to escalated leave and/or work/life benefits-related inquiries. and coordinate non-discrimination testing and Form 5500 filing. Assist with monitoring workflow and work product of Benefits Coordinator. Administers Tuition Reimbursement program, and coordinate the COBRA and Retiree process with our vendor. Maintain the Benefits page on firm’s intranet, and have the opportunity to assist on special projects as needed.
