EnerSys has an exciting opportunity available for a Lab Manager in their corporate office in Reading, PA. This individual will be responsible for supervising the test team, managing daily lab activities, executing test plans, maintaining test schedules and generating technical reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure and improve safety procedures within the lab environment
Drive continuous improvement through lean techniques
Increase test process efficiencies including optimizing equipment utilization
Reduce lead times through reduction of testing downtime and improved process flow
Coordinate with other EnerSys lab locations to create standard work
Manage testing workload
Receive and process test protocols from engineering staff
Prioritize and assign test protocols to test technicians
Liaise between test team and engineering team on test status and priorities
Support the design and process engineering teams with analysis of test failures
Generate accurate technical reports
Co-ordinate test plans internally and at 3rd party labs
Perform electrical and mechanical testing of power electronics, batteries and systems
Operate electrical instrumentation to measure the performance of batteries and systems
Other duties as assigned
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following skills and / or abilities:
Bachelor degree in engineering/physical science, Associates degree in engineering/physical science plus 5 years in a technical role, or 10 years in a technical role
A working knowledge of DC circuits
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
Good problem solving and visualization skills
Above average knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional knowledge of Excel required
Working knowledge of Access required
General Job Requirements
Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
Must be able to differentiate colors.
This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.
