Our client, a top 15 Pharmaceutical company in the world, is currently seeking a Payroll & Tax Coordinator for a 12 month open ended contract opportunity located in Deerfield, IL.  \r

Overview and Responsibilities for the position include;\r
Payroll and Tax Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of payroll, preparation of regulatory tax filings and compliance forms. Responsible for all payroll tax activities, including compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as filing local, state, and federal payroll tax returns. This position serves as the subject matter expert for payroll tax, having a complete understanding of the process for the function in addition to how this process integrates with the overall end-to-end payroll processing. Responsible for the generation of accurate and timely payroll records and processes in accordance with company-established business operating procedures, external regulations, payroll policies and vendor processing requirements. This position also entails maintaining a proper control environment to ensure that only authorized employees are paid.\r
\tEnsure all required payroll withholding and tax returns are accurate, timely filed, and compliant with federal, state, and local regulatory withholding and reporting requirements.\r
\tPerforms detailed verification, review and preparation of payroll tax remittance\r
\tVerify payments required to ensure all Federal, State and Local jurisdictional tax filings and remittance mandated deadlines, including W2 balancing.\r
\tRemains current with federal, state, and local tax laws as they apply, to include multi-jurisdictional processing. Enforce adherence and advise management on required actions.\r
\tPerform Tax account reconciliations and Manage Federal, State, and Local Agency Payroll Tax Notices and respond and resolve them in a timely manner\r
\tResponsible for accurate set up and system maintenance of SUI rates, registration of new accounts when required, and verification of SUI rates by work location.\r
\tUpload various HR files into payroll system and audit for accuracy\r
\tEnsure weekly and bi-weekly payrolls are processed in a timely and accurate manner\r
\tProcess new hires, rehires, terminations, manual checks and compensation changes such as; severance, commissions and bonus payments\r
\tWork to support the team to improve the business through technology enhancements, standardization, and simplified processes.\r
\tAbility to collect, interpret, and synthesize information from payroll, benefits, HCM systems as needed is essential.\r
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor Degree, coupled with 5 years’ experience of Payroll Tax experience (preferable experience with ADP) with sound understanding of moderately complex accounting principles.  Multi state/Local/County tax filing and resolution experience sought.  The incumbent is expected to have a broad knowledge of how HR uses data and is able to support reporting and analytics activities.  Legal & Regulatory Knowledge: Understands laws and government regulations affecting personnel.  CPP is a PLUS.\r
