We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Grants Director.
This position can be filled in any one of our three locations: Merced, Scotts Valley or Salinas, CA.
This position will be posted 12/19/22 – 12/30/22.
PURPOSEFUL WORK
Central California Alliance for Health works in partnership with our contracted providers to promote prevention, early detection and effective treatment, and improve access to quality health care for those we serve. This results in the delivery of innovative community-based health care services, better medical outcomes and cost savings.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Direct the planning, development, implementation, and ongoing operation of the Alliance’s Medi-Cal Capacity Grant Program, in collaboration with the governing board and Alliance executive team
Direct the Grant Program Department, provide executive level advice and guidance on Grant Program functions and overall business operations, and act as a subject matter expert
Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Alliance partners and customers
Direct, manage and supervise Grant Program Department staff
THE TEAM
Oversees the Alliance's community investments through the Medi-Cal Capacity Grant Program (MCGP). Through the MCGP, the Alliance gives grants (i.e., funds) to health care providers and community-based organizations to support efforts to increase the availability, quality and access of health care and supportive services for Medi-Cal members in Merced, Monterey, and Santa Cruz counties.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Knowledge of:
Grant writing and grant making processes
The application of strategic and program development methodologies, best practices and tools
Research, analysis, and reporting methods
The principles and practices of project management
Windows based PC systems and Microsoft Word, Excel (including pivot tables), Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software
The principles and practices of philanthropy
Health care regulatory processes
State and Federal legislative processes
Medi-Cal, Medicaid, Medicare, entitlement programs and related regulations and public policy issues in health care
Ability to:
Direct, manage, supervise, mentor, train and evaluate the work of staff
Develop, plan, organize and direct programs and activities that are complex in nature and regional in scope
Provide leadership, facilitate meetings, and partner with and guide managers and employees in the resolution of issues
Act as a technical resource and explain complex laws, regulations, processes, and programs related to areas of responsibility
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, organize work, and achieve goals and timelines
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, Public Health, or Health Administration
A minimum of ten years of experience within a health care organization, which includes grant development and administration related responsibilities and a minimum of three years of management-level experience (a Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER DETAILS
While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in hybrid remote/in-office work environment right now and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
Our Alliance office locations have officially re-opened as of May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work in full-time telecommute schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
Based on the nature of work, this position may require onsite presence, which is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.
COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:
This position requires staff to be fully vaccinated and boosted upon their start date as a condition of employment. Proof of vaccination must be submitted at time of hire. Fully vaccinated is defined as receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (ex: Pfizer & Moderna vaccines) OR receipt of a single-dose vaccine (ex: Johnson & Johnson); AND receipt of the booster (if eligible); AND a 2-week period having passed since the administration of the last vaccine dose.
Additionally, all positions at the Alliance are required to meet these minimum qualifications.
