Private Client Services Tax Planning Specialist
The candidate will deliver the firm’s estate planning, financial planning and business succession planning services to clients and prospective clients, helping them identify, prioritize and achieve their long term goals. Review clients’ estate planning and trust documents and advise client and clients’ attorneys and other outside financial advisors on content and technical matters, suggesting changes if appropriate. Identify potential trust, gift and estate and related tax issues for clients and serve as a resource for clients and clients’ attorneys and other financial advisors. Prepare tax memorandums or tax planning letters for clients with recommendations to accompany estate plan overviews, incorporating (where appropriate) flow charts, projections and other summaries. Serve as technical resource for estate planning and transfer tax issues and ideas. Answer questions on an ad hoc basis regarding clients’ trust and estate planning. Work with the firm partners to develop business opportunities with new and existing clients. Develop and present the firm materials and lead wealth transfer discussions in a compelling manner. Structure and present financial plans/presentations in a simple to understand conversational manner for clients. Work with affluent and high net worth individuals/families, and have experience with financial planning, investments, income tax and wealth transfer strategies. Train and develop the firm staff to assist in the planning process. Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA, LL.M., CPA, and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professional designations is strongly preferred. Business succession planning experience is required. Extensive experience with complex High Net Worth individual and closely held business owners is required. High net worth tax or estate planning experience is required.
