SUMMARY

Global Asset Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking several part time and full time qualified Access Control System Operators for the AWG Access Control in Fort Meade, MD.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position, and are

not

intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.

Serve as Access Control System Operator by performing duties controlling and monitoring the operation of the security display systems.

Monitor access control, alarms, and security cameras.

Monitor the Intrusion Detection System (IDS), access, respond or direct response to alarms or unusual, unsafe or unauthorized activities IAW AWG standing procedures.

Access Control System Operator recommends changes to access control procedures to reduce opportunities

Monitor and report on the status of protected property, material, equipment, and personnel, and immediately notify local law enforcement personnel, as necessary.

Access Control System Operators shall have and maintain throughout the term of this contract a TOP SECRET (TS) SCI security clearance.

Access Control System Operators will be trained locally.  This position shall be occupied only by personnel who demonstrate competency in the operation of the existing security system in accordance with vendor instructions and SOP. Users will receive graduated blocks of hands-on instruction and will be required to demonstrate the ability to operate the system before they are given elevated access privileges.

Be responsible for monitoring the access and egress of their respective buildings.

Facilitate access for authorized personnel and challenge unauthorized or unrecognized personnel and refer them to the proper authority.

Ensure all visitors are screened and processed IAW current regulations and standing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

In compliance with Federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form (I-9) upon hire.

High School Diploma or GED.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a full time employee of a civilian law enforcement agency, military police, or government/civilian security guard organization; or a minimum of two (2) years military experience in specified military occupational specialties in which the military tour of duty included duties involving security, force protection, weapons proficiency, protecting property, maintaining law and order, protecting lives or other duties similar in nature (i.e., Military Police, Infantry, Special Forces, Security Forces, Communications, War Veteran, etc.).

Honorably discharged (if applicable).

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

Must speak, read, write, and understand the English language, apply written rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training material.

Have no record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five (5) years.

Have no convictions that reflect on the individual’s reliability including those crimes classified under Lautenberg Act.

First Aid certification

CPR/AED certification

Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance eligible for SCI access

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication, interpersonal and team building skills to engender rapport with military personnel, civilians, and other contracts at all levels of DoD

Knowledge of national security program directives and standards is a must

Excellent writing and speaking skills are essential.

Must be able to operate a personal computer and standard office equipment.

Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.

Approaches others in a tactful manner and reacts well under pressure. Treats other with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position. Accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Essential and marginal functions of this job include: sit, stand, talk, and hear. Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical agility test (PAT) and annually thereafter as prescribed by the government.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
