Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution and Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team, focusing on Electrical Engineering & Software. This opportunity is open to candidates with expertise in intellectual property, particularly in the realm of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and similar fields. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in patent prosecution and litigation, with an emphasis on electrical and software technologies.

Duties:

• Represent clients in all phases of patent prosecution and litigation related to electrical engineering, software, and similar fields.
• Draft and file patent applications for a variety of technologies, including networking, software, and wireless networks (3G/4G/5G).
• Provide strategic advice to clients regarding patent portfolio management, including litigation strategy.
• Analyze and evaluate technical and legal aspects of patent portfolios.
• Manage client relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams within the firm to achieve successful outcomes.
• Participate in intellectual property litigation, including pre-litigation analysis, discovery, and courtroom representation.
• Keep up-to-date with patent law developments and emerging technologies to provide expert advice to clients.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of patent prosecution experience, including application drafting.
• Strong background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience in design engineering for a chip company is preferred.
• Expertise in technologies related to networking, software, and wireless networks (3G/4G/5G) is a plus.
• Must be admitted to the USPTO.
• Must be licensed to practice law in Delaware or have the ability to obtain licensure promptly.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

• A degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
• JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• USPTO Admission (Required).
• Admission to practice law in Delaware (Required).

• Strong patent prosecution and litigation skills.
